Video Premire: Kelly Rowland "Commander"

Alright let me start off saying I absolutely loved this damn music video. That's right I loved it. Maybe Europe has really changed my taste for one because I think the urban remix of this song is garbage. Yep I said it "Fucking Garbage". I will stick with the original. Now on to the video. The walk, WOW, Kelly can you say fierce girl. That walk was fabulous. The video has a meaning, it is a metaphor for Kelly shedding her old self and becoming something more confident. That is why during the dance off they are doing the same moves, the red Kelly is the old Kelly (boooo) and the black Kelly is the new Kelly (yeah). That is why Guetta transforms at the end of the video. And finally at the very end Kelly breaks through this window and transforms into the black Kelly. The video is a whole yin and yang thing. When the black Kelly is on screen she is under red lights and when red Kelly is on screen she is under black lights. All the reviews about the green-screen are off they missing the effect, people look at the costumes and make-up during the club scene it supposed to have the feel of Japanese Anime. Before those people bitch about green-screen study film first, and for the video reviewers use a green-screen yourself (they are cheap I have one). Anyways, to me the video is great and make me wanna dance. Good job, Kelly.

Book Review: Sleeping with the Fishes

I know that most people would find the book to be fluff, but what can I say I enjoyed the fluff. Let me start off by saying that I have a very stressful job and I tend to lean to the more cynical side when I interact with people, so when I read this book I immediately fell in love with Fred the protagonist of this book. Her sarcasm just had me laughing out loud. OK now for the nit and gritty of it all: Fred is a mermaid hybrid who has a degree in marine biology and works at the New England Aquarium in Boston. When a pollution problem presents itself in Boston Harbor, she becomes involved in finding the source of the pollution, helped by Dr. Thomas Pearson, a human marine biologist, and Artur,a merman prince(who both fall in love with her).I was pretty happy that what I thought was going to be yet another boring love triangle proved to not be the case. Also I absolutely loved the storyline between Fred's uptight boss, and her male fashionista friend. All in all it is a good summer book to read on the fly.

You Need To Hear: The Pretty Reckless, 'Make Me Wanna Die' (Video of the week)

OK I can just imagine what you guys are thinking Lil J from "Gossip Girl" singing. Epic Fail. Right? Well you guys can be far from right.

I was sketchy too when I heard little miss Taylor Momsen was in an adult rock band. But don't let the sweet innocent character she portrays on television fool you. Miss T can actually belt out some major notes. Creepy and haunting, her Evanescence-like sound, seems like it should be in a Twilight Saga Film. Her band in two words is "KICK ASS", which is coincidental considering their first single "Make Me Wanna Die" is included on soundtrack to "Kick Ass".

Don't forget to check out The Pretty Reckless on this summer's Wrapped Tour.
